URBAN EMPATHY (Strengthening urban sustainability policies)

You are here

The URBAN EMPATHY aims at gathering results coming from former cooperation projects that participated in a sustainable urbanisation in the Mediterranean area. Its ambitions are to setup a platform meant to promote a sustainable urban model, and to bring together in a permanent structure projects, political decision-makers and different type of operators, in order to share concrete results and improve sustainable urban policies in the Mediterranean area.

Project duration: 2013 – 2014

Co-funding project: Interreg MED

Here are the main results of the project:

  • Identifying recommendations, good practices, operational tools and other project results that may be used on other European territories in terms of territorial management, social and territorial cohesion, mobility and transportation as well as energy proficiency;
  • Crossing data with political decision-makers’ expectations and access to an online SUMO toolbox (Sustainable Urban Models);
  • A set of recommendations regarding sustainable urban development priorities for the next European programming period;
  • Setup of a « network of networks » meant to ensure the cooperation platform’s longevity and a multiplication of effects on other territories.
